Hi Everyone, How was your weekend? Glorious weather here, if anything maybe a little too hot for this time of year for me, but I shouldn't be ungracious because sunshine always makes me feel nice and cheery!
So as you saw in my last post, I bought myself a mini MISTI and a few of you over on Instagram asked me what I thought, so I'm sharing a video showing my very first use of it along with a card made with one of the panels. You get to see a bit more of me than I had anticipated as the angle of the camera wasn't quite right. It's also longer than usual because I've kept it mostly in real time.
To sum up, I do think it's a worthwhile buy, even if I find the price a little on the rich side. If you can wait and get it using a voucher or in a sale it may be easier to swallow the cost - mine was 20% off, but even 10% makes a difference.
It's definitely great for layering stamps and making sure you get a crisp image, and great for larger stamps. I didn't use my mucky inks, my Ranger Dyes, with it as I'm thinking I'll have to take the stamp off and use with an acrylic block on my stamp scrubber.
I don't think it will completely replace my acrylic blocks, but all in all I think it's a good purchase and a worthwhile tool.
I said in the video I'd post a link to a blogging friend who made her own stamping tool - Simply By Pink Home Made Stamping Tool.
To finish up, here's the card I made from one of the scenes I created with the MISTI. I did some masking of the moon and super bunny and blended distress inks over them both, before colouring the moon and its halo in with my new moonlight Spectrum Sparkle pen.
I added it to the windows of the sky scrapers too. I then coloured the super bunny with some grey Copics to make him look like he was a night shadow - doesn't look too bad given the ink got wet in the video! - and added the sentiment.
I simply adhered it to a blue card base as I wanted to keep it simple.
I'm going to link this up to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #9, with the third line down - Things That Fly, White Space and Scene.
I hope you find this post useful, and thank you for taking the time to visit me today. Here's to the week ahead :)

Loved watching you play with the MISTI. It truly is a great tool for stamping/re-stamping solid stamps. Super cute card with the bunny superhero too!
This is such a super cute card Ruth! Love this little stamp set and your design is great. Also, really informative video on the MISTI. I do find that my Woodware stamps are hard to get a clean stamp, so it was interesting to see how well your stamp turned out. I am sure I would get some value out of it for stamp layering, repeat stamping and big images, so agree that it wouldn't probably replace my blocks and it's a good tool if you can get it a little cheaper. One for the wish list!
Aw Ruth what a super awesome card using the amazing CB stamps, such a fun design. Colouring and blending is so perfect and just looks so cool. I also love that you have a review on the mini misti tool, isn't such a good idea and makes life so much easier. I wish I could get one, maybe one day but in meantime I'll have to stick to my handmade stamping tool.
Great video!!! Keep up the great work.
Hugs
