I've had this idea in my head for ages using the ink swiping technique that I was introduced to by Tracey. I didn't of course have the die, and I could no longer buy it, but having lovely crafty friends I managed to borrow it - thank you Lisa!
I have a video to go along with this process, so I won't go into much detail here, but it's a fairly simple technique of swiping inks onto a piece of paper. I have lots of little cubes of ink and these were the perfect size for this. Also I hope you'll forgive the messy enamel dots in the top left hand corner - it was all going too well with those until the inevitable splodge!

I LOVE the technique you used here Ruth! Irises are stunning flowers and my Mum's favourites too - though I suspect, it's more to do with her Christian name :) - I hope you are settling well in your new home! Have a great day! Luv & Hugs. Hazel xx
My Card Attic
LOVE this card Ruth! What a great technique - I haven't tried this yet, but I have seen you do it once before and I think it's really effective. Third time lucky with the inks - I actually have a Post It on my shelf above my desk with my rainbow colour order listed so that I don't have to think about it when I am making a card - it's very helpful (it's the little things isn't it?). It's so great to see the image used like this - I really like the die cut panel too and I am very happy to be able to help a little with that! Super card, Lisa xx
Love your rainbow ink swiping! Beautiful card Ruth.
Hello Ruth: What a fun, fun technique, I was laughing at your attempts to get the colors just right and I loved to hear you sing. I personally love all the panels you created, the colors are so bright and intense.
Your finished card is so beautiful, love how you used the negative die cut image to create this awesome card, the enamel dots are a fantastic detail.
How fast this past year has gone, I'm enjoying being part of this team so much, it's been one of my most favorite experiences of my blogging adventures.
