This could be a birthday card, an anniversary card, a Christmas card (time is marching on!) as long as it's for a particular occassion. I've decided to make a birthday card - I always need loads of them to hand!
I love using this stamp from Clearly Besotted, although sadly it's been discontinued. I heat embossed the image onto some watercolour card and coloured loosely with my Winsor and Newton Cotman watercolours.
I then took an A2 (US) card based and added strips of blue Bazzill basics and some Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper, to tie in with the colours I'd used. I then adhered the panel on top and added a sentiment on top with foam pads and some sequins as embellishment.
I love irises, they are my favourite flower and I'm lucky that we have a bunch in our garden outside the kitchen window where I can look at them while I do the dishes.
Here is a
list of the supplies I used on this card. I have signed up to affiliate links

What a pretty design Ruth, beautifully coloured in with watercolours and well balanced too. Well done my friend xx
Lovely watercolouring Ruth, I am hoping Santa might pop some of those Cotman paints into my stocking! I love that stamp too and didn't realise it was now discontinued. Good job we picked it up at the time! I think your loose watercolouring is so,pretty, very soft and almost dreamy. And the plaid and blue strip are the perfect finihsing edges, they make the image pop! Gorgeous, Lisa xx
Such a beautiful card Ruth, loving the blue & yellow colour combo and great watercolouring ;) Viv xx

Beautiful! I love your painting on the flower and the colour combo xx
Hello Ruth: Love this beautifully water colored irises, the white heat embossing defines the image and gives it a very soft look, the pretty color matches perfectly the colors of your pattern paper and card stock.
Awesome card.
XO
Maria.
