Happy Monday Everyone! Two blog posts in two days, you ask? Well I was visiting Maria's blog and I saw her oh so amazing card and I just had to stop everything and make a card in GOLD (bet you I know what you're singing now.....).
My lovely friend Steph gave me the Gansai Tambi Starry Watercolours for my birthday and I could not wait to have a play with them. They are every bit as delicious as I hoped they would be and come in six nice shades of gold.
I started by stamping one of my other birthday presents, some Krumspring Stamps (new to the market, and brilliantly quirky), onto a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossing it with my WOW! Gold Embossing Glitter. I then painted in all the triangles in different golds - so relaxing, colouring in triangles.
Once it was dry, I cut it out close to the edge and mounted it onto an apple green A2 (US) cardbase and trimmed the edge to fit. I thought the little extra piece would be good across the card and amazingly the sentiment fitted perfectly on it - I just stamped it a little squint ;)
I finished by die cutting some little trees in some sparkly gold card I had in my scrap box (they were free in my MFT haul - see my unpackaging video!) and mounted them on top with some foam tape.
It is so gold and sparkly - I wish you could see it shine in real life.
I'm entering it into the Mixed Media Card Challenge #30
And also Pixie's Snippets Playground Week 258 as I used some snippets for my little trees.
Wishing you all a fabulous week and thanks as always for coming by :)

Lovely card Ruth - I do love all the shades of gold! And the triangles design topped with those trees works beautifully. What am I supposed to be singing though?
Hugs
Di xx
Oh those Gansai Tambi Starry Watercolours look a-mazing Ruth, bet they are so cool to use. I've still not tried those, can you believe? Gorgeous design and oh so festive. Hugs x
i want those paints! Have had my eye on them for ages... and I love how you used them for this card. The faceted stamp is perfect to showcase the colours. It is hard to capture gold on camera, I know from experience, so I bet this looks even more lovely in the flesh! And that was a useful little tree die you got too! Great card Ruth xx
