Lily of the Valley - Clean and Simple

I've been playing with my new catalogue pre-order purchase this past week in preparation for some upcoming classes - take a look at My Events page for what is coming up - and I cannot wait to share them with you.

You have one whole week before you can get hold of all the new goodies in the May - August 2026 catalogue and I know you're going to love what's in it.

I adore the Lily of the Valley stamp and die set, and, as I stepped out of the door to head to work on Friday last week, I noticed that our own Lily of the Valley have popped up by the fence. I leave them to their own devices really, because they are such a simple and beautiful plant, I really wouldn't mind if they took over the whole front garden.

I've always been a very CAS card maker - that's shorthand for Clean and Simple. I don't have a huge amount of time to spend crafting, and I also want to share quick and simple makes to show how easy it is to do, plus that you don't have to have a lot of supplies to make cards.

This one that we made at April's Card CafĂ© is a good example of making something Clean and Simple, but also classic without needing to break the bank to make - Darling Duckling CardstockBasic White Card, an Oval Die,  Lily of the Valley Stamps and Dies and some Granny Apple Green Card, although you could just use white and stamp the leaves too.

Whatever you are up to this week, I hope it involves a little bit of a beauty and a little bit of simplicity, and a whole lot of joy too.

Happy Crafting Everyone!

SugarPea Designs August Release - Day 4

Day 4 of the sneak peeks, so the release is almost here! Today's card is super CAS using the Birthday Balloons. I love the stamps as they leave pretty patterns and it gives the balloon great dimension.

This was so simple. Stamp the images in different colours, die cut the images, pop them up with some foam pads, add a sentiment at the bottom, draw lines (there is a stamp, but I wanted mine to be wobbly!) and add a free hand border. Almost one layer!

The release will be available on Friday 24th at 6pm, EST time from the SugarPea Designs website. Don't forget to visit the SugarPea Designs blog every day and comment for a chance to win a daily prize!

Tomorrow is the big day of the release and I'll be back with another card for the final sneak peek!

The Flower Challenge #21 - Use a Previous Challenge

No I haven't gone back to my old days of being on the DT, although I have to say I miss the camaraderie we had, no, I decided after seeing all the great posts from the team and the object of using any previous challenge I couldn't refuse to join in.

This one is for Challenge 17 - CAS. I love CAS and it's a great opportunity to focus on the flower itself. With this one, it's all about the colouring and I even braved some no line as well.

I stamped the Make a Wish image from Clearly Besotted onto some Strathmore Coloured Pencil paper with some yellow memento dye ink. I then got to colouring slowly and with very light layers using my Faber Castell Polychromos, trying my very best to give it some light source. I really struggle with this technique.

I went back in to give it some added depth with some black pencils in all the nooks and crannies as Kathy would say.

I haven't done much in the way of colouring for this current 30 Day Colouring Challenge, so it was nice to sit down and spend some time with me and my colouring medium.

I'm linking this up to the challenge at The Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge and also the Flower Challenge #21 Use a Previous Challenge.

Thanks so much for popping by and happy crafting! :)
